Balls System

Mahjong uses various scoring systems, but the central concept stays the same: the more intricate the combination, the higher the points awarded.

Here are the basic scoring rules:

  • A standard win gives you 10 points.
  • A Pong of dragons or winds earns 10-20 points.
  • A pure combination (all tiles from the same suit) can give you 40-80 points.
  • Secret hands (e.g., all Pongs) are worth 50+ points.
  • Winning without using discarded tiles (a self-drawn hand) doubles your score (x2 multiplier).

When a player wins, the others either pay them points or follow a betting system. While different Mahjong versions may have their own unique scoring rules, the main idea is clear: the player with the most valuable hand or the first to declare “Mahjong” wins!
